👩‍🍳 Directions

1. Make the Cake Batter:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Mix in vanilla. Alternate adding flour, salt, and baking powder with milk.
  4. Divide batter evenly into three bowls:
    • Leave one as vanilla.
    • Mix cocoa powder into one for chocolate.
    • Stir strawberry jam/puree and food coloring into the third for the pink layer.
  5. Pour each into its pan and bake for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.

2. Make the Whipped Cream Filling:

  1. Beat cold cream, sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Chill until needed.

3. Assemble the Torte:

  1. Place the chocolate layer on a serving plate. Spread whipped cream over it.
  2. Add the vanilla layer, repeat. Then top with strawberry layer.
  3. Chill briefly to set.

4. Prepare and Add Ganache:

  1. Heat cream until just simmering, pour over chopped chocolate, let sit 1 min.
  2. Stir until smooth, add butter, let cool until slightly thick.
  3. Pour over chilled cake and let it drip down the sides.

5. Decorate:

  • Add berries, flowers, or sprinkles while ganache is still soft.
