Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla wafers (about 300g)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Slowly add some hot milk mixture to temper, then pour back into the saucepan.
  3. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding. Repeat layers until the dish is filled.
  5. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over the top layer.
  6. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes
